Pilgrim’s Punch-Out Released For iPhone, iPad

For those of you disappointed that Ubisoft isn't releasing its retro-styled Scott Pilgrim PSN/XBLA brawler for any portable devices, you can still sort of play something based on the Bryan Lee O'Malley comic/film on iOS devices.
As its title suggests, Pilgrim’s Punch-Out is very similar to Nintendo's boxing series, except in this title you play as Scott Pilgrim as he fights his girlfriend's seven evil exes. You can punch, block, dodge, and use super moves against your opponents.
While this is nothing like the PSN/XBLA title -- missing the Paul Robertson sprites (the visual style here really can't compare), Anamanaguchi soundtrack, and a dozen other awesome things I'm sure -- it does have some cool features.
Neatest of the features is its pricing: free. Pilgrim’s Punch-Out also offers trailers, sound bites, images, and lots of stuff for this weekend's Comic-Con 2010 in San Diego (news, twitter feeds, event schedule, and an official guide).

Those are some fugly-ass screenshots. Makes me not only not want to play this game, but run to the nearest eyewash station.

Interesting that they actually called it "Punch-Out". I'm inclined to ask if there's any risk since Nintendo might hold a trademark, but maybe they've already done their homework.
