AssemblerGames forumer Dulledblade was recently hawking a set of game development hardware on the site, as well as pirated copies of an "unreleased completed beta" for what could be BottleRocket Entertainment's ill-fated Splatterhouse game. The sale, which AssemblerGames moderators have since deleted from the forum, read as follows:

"Unreleased Completed Beta of Splatterhouse. The game can be played like normal or with debug options that can be accessed via the select button. The intro video was comprised of the rough animations, but better than a story board. There is also a couple physics test rooms and other special tests that can be performed."

Dulledblade, who was selling the copies for $675 each (and Xbox 360 development kits for $1,150), claimed to have pulled the betas from Xbox 360 development kits. He also posted several photos of the game, which were archived by Worthplaying, with post-it notes of his name to prove the authenticity of his wares.

Unfortunately for Dulledblade, he took very little care to conceal his identity (searching for his name on other gaming community reveals his Xbox Live Gamertag), so it isn't implausible that he'll receive an unfriendly visit or notice from Namco Bandai's lawyers -- or worse, the FBI -- who won't take kindly to his profiting off of their property.

BottleRocket was the original developer of the Splatterhouse franchise reboot for current generation consoles before publisher Namco Bandai transferred the project to an in-house team, citing "performance issues". The developer disputed any issues with its work and placed the fault on Namco Bandai's "inept" management.

Though the company continued to work for another six months on another title, BottleRocket closed its doors last September. The PS3/Xbox 360 Splatterhouse game is now under development by Namco Bandai's Afro Samurai team and is scheduled to release this spring.
