I'm always a fan of efforts that attach gameplay to tasks you're too lazy to attend to, like managing your finances or making sure you walk around every day. Daryl Furuyama's to-do list game is another one of those efforts, except it helps you combat procrastination itself with a paper game of Space Invaders.

His trophy system comes up with two forms, a Master List in which you can fill out sets of assignments that you want to complete and their due dates, and a Shoot'em Down page with 80 Invaders -- every time you complete a set of tasks from the Master List, you can shoot down an Invader by filling in a bubble to mark your kill.

Furuyama explains:

"I thought of fighter pilots that put a stamp on the nose of their plane whenever they shot down an enemy. Trophies are physical markers that allow you to feel good about things you did in the past.

This trophy showcase is a visually easy way to be reminded of your accomplishments, without the clutter of keeping all your old lists. This form makes me want to close out a task set, so I can collect another invader. It makes me feel good and is a pleasant thing to view."

A neat idea you can add: Simulate the "Nagoya Attack" by assigning a collection of small tasks that you'll need to rush to accomplish in 20 minutes (before the Invaders reach the bottom and explode your ship). You can read more about the system and download the forms from WhiteHatBlackBox.
