Yup, there's only one new game for regular Nintendo owners this week -- 1950s Lawn Mower Kids for 500 Points on DsiWare, one of the most bizarre titles to come out in a while.

But if you're a 3DS ambassador, there's plenty of other games to choose from. You get the following for free:

Super Mario Bros.
The Legend of Zelda
Ice Climber
Balloon Fight
Donkey Kong Jr.
Wrecking Crew
NES Open Tournament Golf
Mario & Yoshi (the European name for Yoshi)
Zelda II: The Adventure of Link

NA Nintendo Download - Pac Man, Trenches: Generals, NES Ambassador Games

September 4, 2011 9:00 AM |

If you're a 3DS owner, you've got a lot of gaming ahead of you. The Ambassador program has begun, allowing you to download the following titles for free:

Super Mario Bros.
The Legend of Zelda
Ice Climber
Balloon Fight
Donkey Kong Jr.
Wrecking Crew
NES Open Tournament Golf
Mario & Yoshi
Zelda II: The Adventure of Link

Not bad at all. If that's not of your liking, you can also grab Pac-Man for Gameboy for $3.99. Those stuck on their original DS can pick up two new titles as well -- House, M.D. -- Episode 2: Blue Meanie for 800 Points, and GO Series: Fishing Resort for 200 Points.

For those on the Wii side of things, you've got a new title as well -- Trenches: Generals, a complete reworking of the iPhone game of the same name, and it looks pretty sweet. You can grab it for 700 Points.

XBLIG Summer Uprising Day 8 - Chester

September 3, 2011 9:00 AM |

The next title in the XBLIG Summer Uprising is Chester, a somewhat bizarre take on the platforming genre.

The game has you battle though five worlds as over 10 unique, level-upable Chester personalities. One of the more bizarre features is the ability to change the look of the entire game at whim, including 8-Bit, LCD, Sketch, Blueprint, and more.

Give the demo a shot, check out the trailer, or purchase it for 240MSP.

XBLIG Summer Uprising Day 7 - Train Frontier Express

September 2, 2011 10:00 AM |

As a kid, me and my Dad had a pretty sweet train set. Set out the back, we had a huge variety of trains, even some expensive ones with the ability to make steam come out of the chimney. Tons of fun, particularly for him when I was waking him up at 5AM!

Train Frontier Express brings back those memories, as shown in the trailer. Laying down track, building your own giant set, even riding your train around town. Check it out for just 240MSP!

Hothead On The Evolution Of An Independent Gaming IP

August 30, 2011 11:00 AM |

Back at Casual Connect Seattle, Hothead Studios had a quick session regarding The Baconing, the third tale of the illustrious Death Spank. And the game is coming out this week -- how appropriate!

Producer Mike Inglehart discusses the trials and tribulations on publishing their first title themselves, how they dealt with feedback from the original titles, and what to expect from them in the future. Hopefully The Baconing does well this week on XBLA and PSN.
