... And of course, when I mean Popeye, I'm referring to Robin Williams's greatest starring role.

For those who haven't heard the news, Harrison Ford is the star of a brand new series of commercials for both Uncharted 3 and Uncharted: Golden Abyss in Japan.

For decades, American celebs have made extra bucks on side, shilling various wares out East. Male actors that epitomize the essence of "cool" in the eyes of the Japanese do particularly well.

And despite getting up there in the age department, Ford more than personifies that quality to this very day. In fact, him becoming increasingly grizzled looking only serves to make Indian Jones an even bigger man's man.

As well as serve as an excellent counterpoint to the behind the scenes clip, seen after the cut, in which we see Ford flexing his Japanese calligraphy skills. You see, even the most rugged of studs are multicultured as well.

According to Andriasang, one of the statements he writes is "I can't believe I'm jealous over a game." And the thing he says in Japanese, at the very end of the commercial, is "awesome".

And here's another clip, seven minutes of Ford simply playing Uncharted 3 and marveling at how much games have progressed, and in particular their storytelling ability. Though it's entitled "Potential Spoilers" and should be treated as such.
