Independent developer Bennett Foddy (QWOP, GIRP) has put out yet another physics-based (and often frustrating) online game tonight, Pole Riders, except this one is a multiplayer experience -- for those of you without someone nearby to try this out, you can at least play the training mode by yourself, hopping over cars and houses.

Our sister site Indiegames.com compares it to Messhof's two-player only title Nidhogg, which won the Nuovo award at the most recent Independent Games Festival competition but still isn't available to the public. The goal here is to vault around with your pole, knocking a ball toward your opponent's castle.

It's all very silly, but I imagine when played with a friend, that silliness turns into a lot of frustrated laughter as you both struggle against a control scheme that seems determined to work against you.
