Even though its releases after the very popular Game Dev Story have had little to do with parodying the video game industry, many iPhone owners have continued to follow and buy up Kairosoft's subsequent releases like Pocket Academy and Grand Pix Story -- and with good reason, too, as they're pretty fun.

The studio's latest release, Oh! Edo Towns, hit the U.S. App Store last night, and has the same charming pixelart aesthetic in Kairosoft's other titles. The formula here is a little different this time, though, as it's a city building sim set in Japan's medeival period (1603-1868), which is full of samurais in this game.

Here you'll be able to "erect houses, castles, and all manner of medieval marvels" to build your samurai town. You can buy Oh! Edo Towns now from the App Store for $3.99.
