I know we have a lot of Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer fans in our audience, due in no small part to John Harris' excellent diaries playing through the first SNES game, so I'm sure you'll be happy to hear that the series is coming to Android phones!

Developer Chunsoft has brought what looks like a new title, Shiren the Wanderer: The Rainbow Labyrinth, to Android devices. It's available as an open beta for free right now, though only in Japanese. There's no word yet if there's an English or iOS version on the way.

So, how is Chunsot making money off this title? It features microtransactions that allow you to purchase revival tickets and HP tickets, which I'm sure will sell a lot for this infamously difficult roguelike (though us Shiren vets will just start over, as the game is meant to be played!)
