Organizers for the 17th annual Interactive Fiction Competition have posted all of the nearly 40 entries submitted this year for you to download -- or, in many cases, play online through your browser -- for free, then vote on to determine this year's contest winners.

Designed to encourage people to submit and play "some of the best short adventure games available", the competition is designed for original text adventure games that have never been released previously. Players are invited to submit their votes before November 15.

I haven't played any yet myself, but the list of titles promise some very interesting experiences: Last Day of Summer, Awake the Mighty Dread, Cana According To Micah, and Calm ("a game of postapocalyptic relaxation") -- try them all out any many others here!
