Steph Thirion, who's currently working on finishing Independent Games Festival award finalist Faraway, has made another one of his shortlisted IGF titles, Eliss, available free of charge for a limited time on the App Store to honor Wednesday's passing of Apple founder Steve Jobs.

"Eliss could not have existed without you," Thirion writes on the game's App Store product description. "You changed my life deeply. Thank you Steve." The game was previously $4.99, and though its price has fluctuated since launching in 2009, it was never just given away.

Quick description of the multitouch, stylish space puzzler: "You're in charge of a universe where planets can be blended together into giant orbs or split into dwarf planets, and where a simple set of rules enable a large variety of different landscapes and gameplay styles." Grab it here.
