The good news is that bullet hell specialist Cave has released the popular mobile versions of its shoot'em ups, Dodonpachi Ressurrection and Espgaluda II, which have won lots of praise on the iOS platform, to Android devices.

Unfortunately, the bad news is that they're only available for Android 2.1 and newer smartphones in Korea and Japan or now, but the publisher intends to release both games in North America and Europe.

Because of how fragmented the Android landscape has become, Cave has added a "Rendering Skip" option to these releases, which is designed to adjust the timing and frequency of screen rendering to reduce its CPU load.

There's good news for iOS owners today, too -- Cave says it will soon drop the price of the iPhone/iPod Touch versions for Dodonpachi Ressurection by 30 percent to $7.99.
