Indie Royale Download Bundle Launches With Unique Pricing Model

indieroyale.jpgNewly launched web site Indie Royale bundles four downloadable independently developed PC titles every two weeks using a unique pricing system that changes as time passes and more people purchase the games.

While bundles will start at a heavily-discounted $1.99, that price will automatically increase as time goes on. Generous purchasers, however, can help lower the price for everyone else by choosing to pay more than the current minimum, earning a mention on the front page of the site in the process.

The first Indie Royale bundle includes Wadjet Eye Games' 2D adventure game (and IGF finalist) Gemini Rue, FPS tower defense title Sanctum, 'Metroidvania'-esque Dream Build Play winner A.R.E.S.: Extinction Agenda, and Noumenon Games' puzzle/racing game Nimbus.

That bundle has sold over 25,000 copies and currently sells for $5.11 as of this writing Wednesday afternoon.

Titles offered in Indie Royale bundles are available as direct downloads on PC, Mac and Linux, as well as redeemable keys for Steam and indie-focused download service Desura.

Gamasutra parent company UBM TechWeb is behind the new bundle as well as the Independent Games Festival, indie-focused news and download sites IndieDB and IndieGames.com, and Desura.
