Artist and Adobe's Unified Experience design manager Ty Lettau created this neat model kit-style pixelart for Link, Samus, and Mario, imagining sets of plastic cartridges, power-ups, outfits, and other accessories that you can pop out to customize your own video game hero.

Why haven't companies made something like this for real yet? I mean, there's no shortage of merchandise out there for these characters; you'd think someone by now would've figured out that people want to have a Mario with easily swappable Kuribo's Shoe and Frog costumes.
