BeeWorks' adventure game Touch Detective was largely overlooked on the Nintendo DS, despite being successful enough to deserve a sequel. The series never took off in the same way that Phoenix Wright did, and even though it had its share of frustrations, it had enough charm to make it a worthwhile play.

BeeWorks attempts to find a new fanbase in the App Store with this week's release of an iOS version of Touch Detective. The game's initial chapter is a free download, while the remaining episodes are available in a bundle priced at $8.99.

The iOS edition of Touch Detective also boasts exclusive content in "Funghi Breaks Out," a three-chapter escape game starring Mackenzie's mushroom pet. It's neat to see new Touch Detective content years after the last retail release for the series -- perhaps additional episodes are planned for future updates?
