How does the PS Vita already have so many great indies creating projects for its platform already? In addition to Jon Mak's Sound Shapes, Honeyslug's Frobisher Says, and Trendy's Dungeon Defenders, the upcoming handheld will have a new game from DrinkBox Studios.
The Toronto-based indie developer, which brought us ;Tales from Space: About a Blob on PSN earlier this year, is now working on a follow-up platformer called Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack, offering new levels, new powers, new controls, and a new Blob player character.
"The control systems available on the PlayStation Vita have allowed us to experiment with all kinds of new gameplay possibilities," says DrinkBox's Chris McQuinn. "We’re finding that touch controls in particular can be used to complement traditional thumb-stick puzzle-platforming very well."
DinkBox will be showing an early build of Mutant Blobs Attack at PAX (booth #6413) this weekend, and also intends to debut a trailer there. The developer will be giving out limited print buttons, game codes for About a Blob, and a chance to appear in Mutant Blobs Attack at the event.
