In recent years we've seen assorted fashionistas' attempts at tapping into the retro gaming aesthetic. Though often what ends up on the runway are awkward and, to some, flat-out condescending interpretations of another world that they clearly don't understand. Meanwhile, certain designers on the video game side of things have time and time again demonstrated a keen understanding of what's ready to wear.

So perhaps it was about time someone from the fashion world tried going an opposite route, by taking their established talents and deconstructing familiar stylings into 8-bit objects. Which is precisely what Fashionary, a site that's all about providing new means to assist fashion designers with the creative process (mostly in the form of sketchbooks that they produce), has done.

Included are low-fi takes on designs by Louis Vuitton, Yves Saint Laurent, Alexander McQueen, Comme des Garçons, Burberry Prorsum, Gucci, Prada, and more. Prints for each of the designs are also available for purchase.
