Zynga's PrivacyVille Gamifies Social Gaming Privacy
July 8, 2011 3:00 AM | Danny Cowan

Social games publisher Zynga has launched PrivacyVille, a CityVille spinoff (of sorts) that addresses common concerns regarding user data collection in Facebook games.
Rather than listing its policies in a lengthy FAQ, Zynga presents the basics of Facebook gaming in the context of one of its free-to-play city simulation titles. No actual gameplay is involved, but it does a good job of distilling the Facebook gaming experience to its basic elements: clicking stuff and watching a progress meter fill.
Players who successfully complete a post-game quiz will become a "Certified PrivacyVille Tour Guide" and will receive 200 zPoints, redeemable for virtual items in RewardVille. If you've been lusting after the 200-point Eternal Damnation perk in Vampire Wars, you're just one quick survey away from being the coolest social vampire ever.
