When he was working on The Simpsons Game for Electronic Arts back in 2006, concept artist Joe Spiotto was tasked with creating packshots of titles that would appear in Springfield's game shop or in other locations.
Working with another unnamed artist, he created a series of "Simpsonized" covers based on EA-published franchises, such as Dead Space and Wolfenstein, dropping in familiar characters from the animated series like Homer and Rainier Wolfcastle.
"I'm not sure if these even made it into the game," says Spiotto. "I know for sure that The Shims was cut because, as I learned when I moved to The Sims team at EA, they weren't very pleased with the image and didn't give it the go-ahead."
