As part of my continuing efforts to turn GameSetWatch into an all-Hudson news site by the time Eric returns from vacation (won't he be surprised!), I should note that yesterday brought an update to the dearly departed publisher's TurboGrafx-16 GameBox emulator app for iOS platforms.

Version 1.3 of TurboGrafx-16 Gamebox adds five games originally released for NEC's pseudo-16-bit console in the 1990s: Bonk III: Bonk's Big Adventure, Image Fight, Break In, Nekketsu Koukou Dodgeball-bu PC Bangai-hen, and Devil's Crush.

All of the new games added in the latest update -- save for the forgettable billiards sim Break In -- are fairly significant. Bonk III concluded the series of TG-16 mascot platformers that began with Bonk's Adventure and Bonk's Revenge. Devil's Crush, the follow-up to 1989's Alien Crush, is regarded by many as one of the best pinball sims to ever be released for any platform.

The two third-party games are also interesting choices; Image Fight is an arcade-ported vertically scrolling shooter from Irem, while Nekketsu Koukou Dodgeball-bu PC Bangai-hen is an upgraded version of Technos's NES classic Super Dodge Ball.

All titles featured in the 26-game collection -- which includes other standouts like Konami's Gradius, Irem's Ninja Spirit, and Hudson's Bomberman '94 -- are available for purchase within the free-to-download GameBox app for $2.99 each.
