It's been a terrible year for Hudson Soft fans, what with North American subsidiary Hudson Entertainment closing two months ago, numerous titles in development receiving the axe (e.g. Bomberman 3DS, Bonk: Brink of Extinction), and now its mascot/PR executive announcing his departure from the company.

Toshiyuki Takahashi, or "Takahashi Meijin" (“Master Takahashi”) as the public knows him, announced that is leaving the company at the end of the month, though he will remain in the game industry. He didn't give a reason for his farewell, but Konami's recent takeover/transformation of Hudson likely played a part.

Here's a video to remember Takahashi by, as he show off his furious 16-shot tapping ability that catapaulted him to fame in Japan many years ago, whilst dudes breakdance and beatbox. After the break, a commercial from Hudson's Adventure Island series, in which Takahashi starred as the skateboarding hero.
