Strange but true: Cyan Worlds, developer of the legendary CD-ROM showpiece Myst, has succumbed to the Sirens' song of the iTunes App Store and released Bug Chucker, a 99-cent physics artillery game for iOS devices.

Though Cyan's apparently massive shift in creative focus is odd, the game has met with a warm reception from the App Store crowd so far, with buyers describing it as a more complex alternative to Angry Birds and the like. Good for them!

Cyan Worlds notes that the iOS adaptation of Myst is also priced at 99 cents this weekend.
