Unlimited Continues: NES Micro-documentary
April 20, 2011 6:00 AM | Eric Caoili
Matt McNeely has uploaded a neat "micro-documentary" called Unlimited Continues that investigates "the continuing infatuation with the NES and the legacy it's had for game players as well as designers."
Its length precludes it from covering the topic in-depth, but it features interview bites from knowledgeable folks like Chrontendo's Doctor Sparkle and International Center for the History of Electronic Games curator Eric Wheeler.
The interviewees bring up some interesting points about the NES's history and heritage, such as the rapid evolution of the platform's titles and the influence they had on modern releases like Uncharted. It's great, but I really wish this documentary wasn't so micro!

Thank you so much for the article. I received 500 plus views the day you posted this. I never imagined the kind of response I've been getting. I am working on a longer version of the doc (8-10 minutes) that I hope to finish this Summer. Hopefully it will provide an antidote to the severity of this film's micro nature.
