Christine Love has put out what she calls "a spiritual sequel of sorts" to her lauded Digital: A Love Story release from last year -- except instead of a visual novel playing out on the Bulletin Board Systems of 1998, this new title is "set in a prestigious private high school, and on the social networks of 2027".

In Don't Take It Personally, Babe, It Just Ain't Your Story, players follow the lives and relationships of seven students, eavesdropping on their public and private online conversations -- the setup is they're high school teachers with permission to track their students' social network activities to monitor bullying.

Our sister site IndieGames says it's a short experience lasting around one hour, but there are three different endings, so it's worth several playthroughts to take in the visual novel's themes of "erosion of privacy, gay drama, young sexuality, and the perils of modern online life for a high school literature class".

You can download and play Don't Take It Personally, Babe, It Just Ain't Your Story for free on your Windows, Mac, and Linux systems.
