The editors of Game Developer magazine, the world's leading game developer-oriented publication, are pleased to reveal that the publication is a finalist thrice over in the upcoming 2011 Maggie awards.

The Maggies are curated by the Western Publishing Association, which is currently celebrating its 60th year honoring the best editorial and design in Western magazine publications, now including digital versions.

Game Developer is nominated in the following categories within the "trade" (versus consumer-facing) category: Computer Software, Education, Programming, Best Overall Publication Design and Special Theme Issue.

The latter was awarded specifically for our student-oriented Career Guide issue, and the full list of finalists can be seen on the official site.

On the other side of the U.S., Game Developer has also won an Eddie Award, which also celebrates editorial and design excellence, but is based on the East Coast. The Eddies are put on yearly by Folio, which bills itself as "the magazine for magazine management."

In the B-to-B space, Game Developer was a silver winner in the category Media/Entertainment/Publishing Full Issue, for our March 2010 issue, which featured an Uncharted 2 postmortem, as well as the second edition of the "Dirty Coding Tricks" article series.

The editors wish to thank the contributors and authors that made these awards possible.
