Play Tetris As A Tabletop Game

Continuing to find new ways for you to play Tetris, licensor Bue Planet Software has partnered with toy company Techno Source to create Tetris Link, a competitive tabletop game based on the puzzler and its colored Tetriminos.
In Tetris Link, up to four players choose a color, roll a die that determines what shape they get to use, then drop a Tetrimino into an upright tower. They'll need to link shapes with the same color to earns points while also blocking others from making links.
Techno Source is showing off the game at the American International Toy Fair in New York City (booth #3151) that kicks off this Sunday, and expects to sell it to mass market and specialty retailers this spring.
Priced at $19.99, each copy will include 100 Tetrimino pieces split into four different colors, playing die, and instructions. You'll need to download the "Type A" theme and play it on a loop to make sure you get that Tetris feel.

Looks pretty similar to "Tetris Tower 3D,' except that game only supported 1-2 players, but it did have batteries so it could automatically tell you which piece to drop (and it also played the Tetris song): http://www.noisetosignal.org/2008/08/tetris-tower-3d

There's a game by renowned German board game maker Reiner Knizia called FITS (Fill In The Spaces) that's basically a sort of Tetris on the tabletop. It was released in 2009.

The pieces make it look an awful lot like Blokus. http://blokus.com/en/blokus.html
