Independent outfit Demiurge Studios, whose contributions you've likely enjoyed in games like BioShock and Borderlands, uploaded this new trailer showing the first in-game footage for Shoot Many Robots, its sidescrolling run'n gun game/"robot murder simulator".

The downloadable game (likely for XBLA and PSN) will come out next year and invite up to four players to "kill everything moving", "explode red barrels", and "learn absolutely nothing". So, to review: Metal Slug-style mayhem (without the vehicles), giant robot bosses, and self-aware humor. Count me in!
