Grimoire Assembly Forge has put out in-game screenshots for its first, vulgarly titled project, Dudebro — My Shit Is Fucked Up So I Got to Shoot/Slice You II: It’s Straight-Up Dawg Time, a top-down shooter borne originating from an off-hand comment at NeoGAF poking fun at bro shooters.
Meant to parody and pay homage to the game industry, Dudebro II follows "the exploits of elite soldiers John Dudebro and his sidekick Habemus Chicken as they chase anyone who threatens the world's brodiocity." Duke Nukem voice actor Jon St. John will lend his talents to the game.
The group says its project has seen a "major shift in art direction" since development began over a year ago, as it changed the character models to 2D sprites in 3D environments. The title is built on Unity3D and will be playable on any Windows/Mac browser with the Unity3D Web Player plugin installed.
GAF's Jocchan says ports to other platforms are under consideration: "We need to focus on finishing the game first, but I'd love to port it to every platform under the sun. Luckily, Unity allows this. Unluckily, the license fees are a bigger problem. But we'll evaluate the best way to act when the moment comes."
If Dudebro II sounds like a game you'd like to help out with, the team is looking to recruit "contributors in several key roles". You can find more information on Grimoire Assembly Forge here.
