Nicalis and Knytt developer Nicklas "Nifflas" Nygren will release NightSky, their atmospheric physics-based puzzle/platformer that was a 2009 Independent Games Festival finalist (Seumas McNally Grand Prize, Excellence in Design), to Windows PCs this Thursday.

The game was initially announced for WiiWare, and Nicalis says it will still eventually release for the Wii's download platform: "We haven't forgotten about NightSky for console, but we can't keep fans waiting. " The studio adds that it hopes to release its Mac version soon through the upcoming Mac App Store.

In NightSky, players roll a crystal sphere across ten levels made up of "sunset plains, dreary mountains, abandoned ruines, and other locales". The game features multiple difficulties, high-contrast silhouette landscapes, and an original soundtrack by experimental jazz musician Chris Schlarb.
