In addition to its promising chiptune showcase and attractions, the annual four-day Music And Gaming Festival (MAGFest) will hold a charity auction next week to raise money for Child's Play, the Penny Arcade-founded non-profit dedicated to donating toys and games to children's hospitals.

Some of the items MAGFest will auction off include:

  • Distant Worlds CDs and Posters signed by famous Final Fantasy composer Nobuo Uematsu and conductor Arnie Roth
  • a copy of Civilization V signed by the development team and Sid Meier
  • a Rock Band 3 keytar bundle signed by the bands performing at MAGFest
  • a Rock Band 3 Pro Guitar signed by the bands performing at MAGFest
Organizers for the Washington D.C. festival say these items are "just a small sampling of the items that will be up for auction", and are accepting donations for more items that will be sold off for charity. MAGFest will run from January 13 to 16, and the auction will take place on the last day.

You can preregister for and learn more about MAGFest -- which features "4-hour console, arcade, and PC game rooms, over ten live video game cover bands, a vendors area, guest speakers from the video game industry and fan scene", and more -- at the event's official site.
