As you'd know from just a glance at the game's visual style, super talented pixel artist Paul Robertson (Pirate Baby's Cabana Street Fight) worked on Ubisoft Montreal's Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game for PSN and XBLA.

As lead animator, he worked on the look and movements for all the playable characters and strikers, almost all the bosses, and more -- with help from Stephane Boutin, Jonathan Lavigne, Jonathan Kim, Mariel Cartwright, and Justin Cyr.

With the game out on PSN as of three days ago (coming to XBLA on August 25th), Robertson has posted more than three dozen animated GIFs of sprites from the 2D title on his personal blog.

The images show the stars of Scott Pilgrim running, performing special attacks, and just rocking out. Even without the awesome background art and video game references littering the screen, the sprites look awesome and full of character!

And since we're talking about Scott Pilgrim, don't forget that we're giving away shirts, soundtracks, baseball caps, and more based on the comic book/film/game franchise! You can learn about the contest and enter here.
