Though he helped create one of the PS3's best-selling exclusives with Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, that didn't exempt Hideo Kojima or his Konami team from having to put on gaudy PlayStation wristbands to attend tomorrow's Sony press conference, a full day before the event.
Sometime after his showcase of Metal Gear Solid: Rising at Microsoft's press conference yesterday, Kojima picked up his wristband that will serve as a ticket for Sony's presentation. According to a stream of updates on his Twitter account, the MGS director was asked to immediately put on the wristband.
The Kojima Productions head was skeptical that he needed to wear it so soon, and Kenichiro Imaizumi, a producer from his team, even asked, "Are we supposed to wear this in the bath and when we sleep?" The Sony representative responded, "It's waterproof. Or would you rather come again tomorrow and wait 20 minutes?"
Kojima eventually conceded, slapping on the wristband and tweeting, "It will be there until tomorrow. I can't take it off. I'm going to have dinner with Hollywood people now, and it doesn't look good. This is unbelievable!"
Later that night, however, after taking a shower, Kojima admitted that the wristband indeed featured a waterproof design.
