Sprite Something: iPad App For Pixel Artists
May 19, 2010 2:00 PM | Eric Caoili
Terrible Games has released Sprite Something, an iPad drawing application specifically geared toward pixel artists and game developers who want to create and edit multi-frame artwork in a single image file.
The $2.99 app allows you to create sprite sheets and tiles, edit frames individually, preview your pixel work at multiple sizes, and add/export drawings through iTunes. You can also use onion skinning for tracing frames. You could become the next eBoy! (probably not, though)
It's a simple but very useful application that I'm surprised no one's created for the system yet -- or maybe someone already has made one, but it was lost in the pile of 200,000+ releases for the iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad?
You can purchase Sprite Something on the App Store now. I've also included screenshots of the application, in landscape and portrait modes, after the break.

I feel like Apple is missing out on a significant consumer base of creative professionals by refusing to at least make the iPad stylus friendly.
Yeah, we get it - the average consumer doesn't want to use a pen and prefers to finger paint. But seriously, I would think the iPad was the most amazing thing EVER if I could use a stylus for sketching and note taking.

The Matt sprite is totally inspired by Mother sprite design.
Love it.

Why can't you use a stylus? I have a Pogo one for iPad and it's great for sketching.

Really? I need to find someone who has one handy to try out, as I'm not willing to drop the cash on the potential that those third party styluses (stylii?) are accurate and comfortable to use on the iPad, especially since the corresponding styluses (stylii, stylices, stylusicisii) for the iPhone were 'meh'.
