Blizzard has previouslyshown off the versatility of Galaxy Map Editor, its StarCraft II map editor released with a beta last month, demonstrating how the toolset can be used to make games for other genres like RPGs and Galaga-style fixed shooters.
An ambitious Chinese gamer expanded on that second idea to create an impressive Touhou clone shoot'em up with the editor. Look at all those bullet patterns and effects! You can download the StarCraft II map and try it out for yourself at this Chinese forum.

Blizzard internally developed a shooter like this in SC2 and showed it at Blizzcon '09. I wonder if this is the same thing, or an independent project?
