Inspired by Marvel Vs. Capcom 2, cartoonist Wardell Brown mocked up this character select screen for his "ultimate fighting game fantasy", a fight game filled with movie monsters. Now, Capcom already has its own monster-themed series with Darkstalkers, but instead of featuring Demitri Maximoff and Jon Talbain, Monster Bash has Dracula and Wolfman!

Brown's concept mixes classic and modern monsters, and even includes a several deranged humans. Some of the "playable" characters in Monster Bash include Elphaba (Wicked Witch of the West), Stripe (Gremlins), Hannibal (Silence of the Lambs), and Samara (The Ring). Not shown here are the bosses the artist envisions for the made-up game: Mr. Hyde, The Fly and the Thing.

Though this isn't a real project, Brown has taken care to address a lot of questions about how this work, like how Jaws would be able to fight in this game. He explains, "Whenever Jaws is chosen the screen floods. All his fights happen underwater." That would be difficult for Stripe, unless he was wearing some kind of underwater outfit!

The illustrator has more info on the Monster Bash game idea, including why HAL 9000 didn't make the roster and where the characters would fight, on his deviantArt page.
