[Every week, IndieGames.com: The Weblog co-editor Tim W. will be summing up some of the top free-to-download and commercial indie games from the last seven days on his sister 'state of indie' weblog.]

This week on 'Best Of Indie Games', we take a look at some of the top independent PC Flash/downloadable titles released over this last week.

The delights in this edition include a block-stacking puzzle game, a browser-based RPG, a short interactive story, a remake loosely based on an Action 52 game, and an experimental homage to old Game & Watch handhelds.

Here's the highlights from the last seven days:

Game Pick: 'Labyrinthos' (Daredevil, browser)
"Labyrinthos is a small role-playing game in the style of the Dungeon Master series, where players assume control over a hero who is looking for monsters to slay for combat experience."

Game Pick: 'Crushd' (Jonathan Whiting, browser)
"Crushd is a tough block-stacking puzzler with quite a sinister atmosphere. A red block is pacing the screen, and will climb up green blocks which fall from above. Clicking the green blocks causes them to explode and pieces of debris fall down below. If he gets trapped for too long or is squashed by falling debris, he'll shake the area around him, turning blocks into rubble."

Game Pick: 'Before the Law' (Brandon Brizzi, browser)
"Before the Law is a very short interactive story which plays out the original tale by Franz Kafka. A man from the country wants to read 'the Law', but a gatekeeper stands in his way. Depending on your real-life experience with "the Law", this will either mean something to you, or it'll go right over your head."

Game Pick: 'Streemerz' (Arthur Lee, freeware)
"Streemerz is a remake loosely based on an Action 52 game with the same name, featuring new art and music resources from Arthur Lee and Binbag McGraw. The story is now set sometime in the future, although the main character still uses streamers to scale walls or climb onto platforms."

Game Pick: 'Greek & Wicked' (Swing Swing Submarine, browser)
"Greek & Wicked is a short, experimental homage to old Game & Watch titles. Take control of Mr. Game & Watch as he attempts to kill the invincible hydra monster. It's extremely short, but nicely made."
