Shiren 3 Wanders To PSP

A new product listing on Japanese online retailer Rakuten indicates that Shiren the Wanderer 3 (releasing in the States as just Shiren the Wanderer) will receive a PSP port in January, courtesy of Tokyo-based publisher Spike.

Originally released for Wii by Sega, the Chunsoft-developed roguelike features a new dungeon and balance improvements for its handheld port. The PSP port, which will be the Shiren series' first appearance on the system, also has a data install option designed to decrease loading times.

Atlus is scheduled to bring the Wii version of Shiren the Wanderer 3 to North American next Spring -- I wonder if it's also considering localizing the PSP edition, or if it plans to work with Chunsoft to add those changes to the stateside Wii release? The publisher is already making other changes to the Wii game like including Japan's downloadable content on the U.S. disc, after all.

The real important question, though, is will Spike create a PSP Koppa dock like the Wii Remote Koppa stand for Shiren the Wanderer 3?

It will be the first official roguelike for the PSP. I will surely get it, even in japanese.
