Easy Piano, Mini Piano Accessory Headed To DS

Valcon Games announced its plans to publish and distribute piano lesson software Easy Piano, along with a 13‐note external keyboard accessory, for the Nintendo DS. Developed by Game Life (not to be confused with the Wired blog or the web show), Easy Piano will release in North America in early 2010.

As with the Guitar Hero DS games' Guitar Grip, the peripheral is plugged in via the system's GBA slot, leaving it compatible with only the original DS model and the DS Lite. Because the DSi lacks the GBA slot, gamers with the newer model will have to rely on the game's virtual keyboard played with the touchscreen.

(For DSi owners upset that you can't play Guitar Hero, fit the Band Hero DS drum kit around your system, or use this keyboard accessory, take comfort in the fact that you can at least use KORG DS-10's revolutionary straw peripheral.)

Easy Piano will have two difficulty modes, 10 lessons, minigames, various instruments, and a creation mode that enables you to record up to four 3-minute-long songs.
