Joining in on the Beatles mania brought on today by the release of The Beatles: Rock Band and the band's remastered albums, chiptune collective 8-Bit Operators (The Music of Kraftwerk) unveiled nine preview tracks from its latest project, Wanna Hld Yr Handheld, a micromusic tribute to the seminal rock group.

Developed over the past two years, the album focuses on the Beatles's "glorious avante-garde/ electronic side", with remixes from well-known names in the chip music scene like Bud Melvin, Minusbaby, Glomag, goto80, Anamaguchi, 8-Bit Weapon, and more. This first preview batch includes songs like "Because" and "When I'm 64" performed by The Depreciation Guild and Poke-1,170, respectively.

8-Bit Operators plans to post all 20-plus tracks from Wanna Hld Yr Handheld a month later on John Lennon's birthday, October 9th.
