Not long after the release of the two-disc Blip Festival 2008 Live album, organizers for the chiptune event -- one of the largest in the world, if not the largest -- have announced that Blip Festival will return this December for its fourth year, running from December 17th to 19th. The show is a day shorter than last year's, but don't forget that Blip Festival expanded to Europe for the first time last July with a two-night debut.

The flagship NYC show will again take place at Brooklyn's The Bell House, and will likely include a number of workshops, screenings, and presentations to accompany its micromusic acts. Though organizers haven't yet announced who's slated to perform this year, Blip Festival 2008 brought in over 30 chiptune acts and groups like Nullsleep, Starscream, and Bit Shifter, so expect a star-studded lineup.

Of course, I'll keep you updated as more Blip Festival 2009 details are announced.
