To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Elite, originally released in September 1984 for the BBC Micro and Acorn Electron computers, UK studio Frontier (LostWinds) has launched a new site commemorating the influential space trading PC game.

At the new Elite hub, you'll find memories of the game left by fans, new wallpapers, a timeline for the series, midi music, screenshots and other related images. Elite's Facebook page also promises to hold a competition starting next Monday.

David Braben, founder of Frontier and co-developer of Elite, has a couple videos on the site sharing his memories of the game, and will host an online Elite Questions and Answers sessions next Wednesday on Frontier's Twitter channel. A few lucky fans who submit questions will receive limited edition Elite t-shirts and even Elite artwork signed by Braben.
