Street Play: Jump `N` Run

As part of his "Jump 'n' Run" series, Hamburg-based photographer Patrick Runte recreated scenes from classic video games, giving characters (and objects) real legs and sending them out to play on the streets.

"The work is inspired by Oskar Schlemmer and his idea of the 'Triadic Ballett' and the term 'Streetplay'", Runte explains. "I wanted to compile old video games, which are based on simple geometric forms and make them able to be experienced/felt by the human body."

Blinky's expression kills me in the Pac-Man photos above, as it looks like he's rolling his eyes over having to chase this manic yellow character around a maze yet again. The Pong, Tetris, and Space Invaders shots below are also brilliant. You can see the rest of the photos from the series at Runte's site.
