Out Of This World And Onto Your Desktop

Mikaël "Orioto" Aguirre, the talented artist behind so many fantastic wallpapers of classic video games (if you haven't seen them yet, definitely check out his tributes to Gunstar Heroes and Moonwalker, recently posted this piece for Eric Chahi's Out Of This World/Another World.

Orioto doesn't seem satisfied with the work, but I love this painted scene of the 1991 platformer. "I love the game, one of the first one to really use cinematographic aesthetic," he says. "Actually, the artistic direction of the original is perfect, in every aspect, so there isn't really a need for my proposition."

You can download a larger version of the image here, and see more of his wallpapers on Orioto's DeviantArt page.
