Massachusetts Throws Game Unicon 2009 This Weekend

The East Coast will have its own video game convention this weekend, and while its attendance likely won't match Blizzcon's in California, there will still be plenty to take in at Game Unicon 2009.
Organized by Keough Enterprises and Game Universe (a Framingham, MA-based shop), Game Unicon 2009 will run from August 21st to the 23rd at the Best Western Royal Plaza Hotel in Marlborough, MA. The expo will have the usual attractions like a "casual games free-play area", PC LANs, table top gaming, and vendors selling game related merchandise.
But visitors can also look forward to 30+ cash prize tournaments (Halo 3, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Street Fighter IV, Capcom vs Tatsunoko, etc.), panels from local companies like 38 Studios and GamerDNA, and an interesting "Dive-In" pool where you can swim and watch movies.
The convention's list of slated video game music performers is impressive, too: Bang Camaro, FreezePop, PowerGlove, Konami Kode, The Megas, Jesus Candy, Planetoid, and The Motion Sick. You can find more information on the three-day event and details for purchasing a pass at Game Unicon 2009's official site.

The midwest? Maybe the Midwest of the eastern coast of Massachusetts, but last time I checked, Massachusetts is in New England.
