One of the most popular arcade games in the U.S. that you probably never notice when you pass one of its machines, Golden Tee, will receive its 21st installment this September, and developer Incredible Technologies is sparing no expense to promote the game, paying big bucks for a theme song from country artist Ira Dean (formerly of Grammy-nominated group Trick Pony).

Along with Golden Tee 2010's new courses and customization options, this trailer also gives you a preview of the Ira Dean Band's routine when it hits the studio and lays down a music track of this caliber -- a process that involves a harmonica player in a Scottish getup waving around an iron. This is way more interesting than Ghostface Killah and Doom's theme song for Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars.

Kotaku posted this video a couple weeks ago, and the comments were predictable considering that most of the gaming site's readers are far from the Golden Tee series's target audience. Incredible Technologies blogger "Duffer" Dan Schrementi jokingly responded to their comments with an open letter to the naysaying "geeks" from the millions of Golden Tee fans in the world:

"I am sorry for breaking your glasses in dodge ball back in P.E.. And yes, that was my touchdown you were writing about for the school paper back then and yes, it was GLORIOUS. And remember when you were trying to hack into the prom queen’s computer? I was making out with her. Yes, my friend – I was THAT popular. And I’m sorry I made fun of your 'foam sword fight club' back then – but it was funny. And truthfully, I never had anything against you, your plastic figurines and your witty t-shirts… Really.

So today, while you’re sitting at home in your underwear massively multiplayering in your 'social' network – I’ll be at the bar, hanging out with my friends, living life, playing Golden Tee and loving every damn minute of it. Oh yeah, me and the 10,000,000 other Golden Tee players to have “viciously attacked the trackball” the past 21-years."

Ouch.
