Every year, Japanese arcade gaming magazine Arcadia hosts Super Battle Opera (Tougeki), a three-day festival comprised of multiple tournaments for several fighting games (like a Japanese equivalent of North Amrica's Evo Championship Series). This year's SBO will take place August 14 - 16 with tournaments for Street Fighter IV, Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion, Guilty Gear XX: Accent Core, and many others.

Ahead of the event, Famitsu (which is owned by Arcadia-publisher Enterbrain) put up a site with videos from Street Fighter 3: Third Strike and BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger matches featuring high profile players. You can also watch three Street Fighter IV clips of Evo2K9's SFIV champion Daigo Umehara playing against similarly feared local players Nemo, Mago, and Iyo.

The matches are likely from Arcadia's recent "Daigo Kumite" DVD, which was included with a recent magazine issue and showed him fighting against Japan's top SFIV players, according to a report from arcade gaming news site Versus City.

Daigo's match against Nemo's Chun-Li, in particular, has everything a novice could ask for from a high level match -- nearly depleted lifebars, daring escapes from the corners, and rounds brought to a glorious end with special moves. Watch them all here!
