If you haven't marked it in your calendar yet, don't forget that That Autumn Society's 8-bit & Beyond show starts tomorrow night at Philadelphia's Brave New Worlds comic shop.
In addition to featuring over 50 illustrations and paintings inspired by video games, several of which we've featured previously, the event will have live music provided by Levi "Doctor Octoroc" Buffum , the chiptune musician and bead artist behind works like the 8-Bit Jesus Christmas album and the wicked Vic Viper 3D bead sprite. If you ask nicely, maybe he'll play the 8-bit Keyboard Cat song.
Anyway, to give you an idea of what you'll miss out on if you're in the area and skip the 8-bit & Beyond show, here's a sampling of pieces that will appear at the event:
"King of Pop vs. King of Hop" by Jim McHugh

"Tetrisarina" by Daisy Church:

Contra by Ian Glaubinger:

"Castle Crashers! Collect all 4!" (four individual pieces) by Guayapizco:

"Secret of Mana: Snack Time!" by Brianne Drouhard:

"Inky" by Scott Derby:

"Round 1 - Ryu (リュウ)" by Chogrin

"Panzer People" by Daniel Trauten:
