This weekend is already busy with conventions for gamers, what with Evo 2009 in Las Vegas and Otakon 2009 in Baltimore (the latter has ten fighting/music game tournaments scheduled), but don't forget about Insert Coin 09 in Northampton, England.

The inaugural UK event starts tomorrow and will last for two days, offering over 250 arcade machines -- more than 200 of which are brought over from Japan -- for attendees to play for free after paying an entrance fee.

Those imported cabinetes include Melty Blood Act Cadenza Ver.B, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Cross Generation of Heroes, Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion, and even the screen-rotating Delta 32 that we featured last month.

Along with expected tournaments for Dance Dance Revolution, Street Fighter IV, and Tekken 6, and Insert Coin will have casual tournaments for fighting titles like like BlazBlue, Battle Fantasia, King of Fighters XII, Guilty Gear XX AA, 3rd Strike, SFII Turbo, and others.

There is also an "Ultimate Shmup Cup" in participants compete in the "the most thrilling, rarest shooters ever made" over two contest, each promising a £75 ($122) cash prize and trophy to the winner.

Other notable attractions -- local traders and collectors displaying and selling their cabinets, at least 5 Guinness World Record attempts, a Cosplay Clash competition, raffles for three Japanese arcade cabinets, a bring and buy/sell stand for PCBs and parts, a pinball sales stand, and more.
