GameTunnel Licks FizzBall Right Into February

The inestimable Russell Carroll pointed out that we'd forgotten to run anything on Game Tunnel's Top 10 Downloadable Games for January, so now we're linking to it, come hell or high water.
The 'gorgeous' opening blurb explains: "January starts the year off with not one, not two, but three Gold Award winners! Independent, Casual, and Downloadable games seem to be getting better all the time, and this month's round-up starts the new year off right with PopCap's RPG meets word game Bookworm Adventures, Cryptic Sea's explosive puzzler Blast Miner and the return of Grubby Games' ever popular Professor Fizzwizzle in FizzBall. It's 10 games you may not have heard about...but should definitely check out." Of course, we've heard of them, but we're smartypants.
Overall, Mike Hommel is suitably happy about IGF finalist and excellent Game Of The Month, Fizzball: "Hey, it's what I wanted! A breakout game that actually does something new! I won't say what it's a cross between, because the other round-uppers will. Also, at long last, somebody has borrowed the Gravitron from Breakquest! Only it's in reverse, in the form of fans." Fizzball is well worth checking out, if you haven't already.

Lovely post, despite the fact that Fizzball -according to the voices- failed to live up to the standards Professor Fizzwizzle set.

I thought Fizzball was better...but mostly that has to do with the fact that after 20 or so levels in a puzzle game (like Professor Fizzwizzle) my brain turns to mush and eyes get glossy. On that note it reminds me of listening to Metallica in High School. So Heavy Metal has about the same affect on me as a Casual Puzzle game. What are the implications?

Uhm... wouldn't know, really... Have you tried Power Metal? Punk, perhaps?
:)
(still don't like Fizzball, still in pure and ...err... platonic love with the Professor)

You're both wrong... plums are way better than apples OR oranges! :)

Its worse than that, Okfoz. Some of the major players responsible for the economy sliding into the toilet are also part of b os administration. B Os Attorney General and Queen Pelosi dont want these people investigated. That means there is no justice in this swine herd. B Os defective sense of transparency is finally coming home to roost. As b os flunkies in congress get their just desserts this summer, let them ponder what they can do with those half-@$$#* plans and their Nazi methods. These morons are so out-of-touch that they cant understand why people are so mad at them [duh!]. Americans are allergic to domestic enemies and back-stabbers. Thats why!
