Stay Alive, Watch Video Game Horror Movie
A couple of the GSW editors received a 'mysterious package' the other day (pictured at left, next to our friend Godzilla!) - a white unlabeled DVD in a white DVD case, with the words 'Stay Alive' in a blood-like font on the front, and the URL canustayalive.com.
Well, turns out the disc has a DVD trailer for the game-themed horror movie 'Stay Alive', opening in the U.S. on March 24, and co-starring Frankie 'Malcolm In The Middle' Muniz and Adam 'The Hebrew Hammer' Goldberg, among others. The game disc in the movie is the same as the disc GSW was sent - therefore we currently fear for our lives.
There's also a trailer on the official site, spouting some such nonsense about there being '100 million gamers in America', and 'a quarter being addicted', and the UHM page for the flick explains: "Follows a group of young teens in New Orleans, who stumble upon a new video game called Stay Alive. The game details the grisly true story of a 17th century noblewoman known as 'The Blood Countess.' A chilling connection is made when the gamers are murdered in the same method as the character they played in the game." Uhoh, we're pretty sure The Blood Countess isn't bringing cupcakes. Or good in-game CG.

I just want to comment the prev comments. There will be a game called stay alive, the computer game market and all its customers wants the game, so it will be a game. but be patient. its kinda hard to make a game you know. its take about 1-3 years to devolement a game, and the movie was released 2006. so you all just got to wait. play some other horror game instead like Call of Chutulu or something like that. because the game may be released year 2009. well Good Luck and Have Fun.

i really loved the movie. i was pretty terrified after watching it..and the director's cut is so much better than the regular rated movie. ive watched it several times. i actually took the time to look up Countess Elizabeth Bathory. I didnt think it was real, but before i read the biography of her..i got a little freaked out. can't wait for the game! i just wish there was a little demo on the computer or something. just make sure that..its not exactly like the movie..i dont wanna die young..or have someone slit my throat.

Why in the heck would you want to play a game where you're supposed to die the way you did in-game? They will get extremely sued and stir up a media frenzy if by "coincidence" that actually happens. Not saying the curse is real, but some sicko could find out how you died in the game and kill you that way. Then we have a problem. Plus the movie wasn't that great so why extend it into a game?

I'm assuming your being sarcastic. becuase otherwise your lying.
If this were a real game, it would be amazing. The style as seen in the movie would bring a whole new face to co-op horror-survival games (not that there are currently any really good "co-op" or "multiplayer" ones out there as it is.)
It truly would be as they said "next gen."
But as it is there is no game produced by the game designer behind the movie, and despite them talking of working on a playable version of the game for release on the date of the sequel, it's not likely that it will be made. :(
It's been a year and thensome, and not even the hint of even a demo, or filming of the sequel. Least ways not that i could find other than the initial anouncement of intentions to further it.
sigh.
such a pity. I would buy it in a heart beat.

Oh, I almost forgot, if you go to the movie's official site (unrated, and i think that the link was metioned before in the above posts, get past the birthday entry, and continue to the homepage type thing, you can click on the swinging girl in the background on the right side (she's upside down). that takes you to another place, in the same corner there is a door, click that. Once you've done this it goes through a short cinematic and takes you to the room with the wordrobe. Click on the wordrobe and read the articles in the ensuing room.
You'll notice that the college mentioned several times in the set of articles begins "Wii"
If i were to indulge in the sparing hope that there is a game still alive in progress, is this a clue? or just a silly coincidence?

oh yeah, the thing that makes the game so unique and sweet in general is not only the graphics, becuas eyou can find those elsewhere. It's the entirely customizeable and endless possibility of weapons and death factor that appeals so strongly. So if there is a game, it better have that and better be VERY LANable.

I was thinking yesterday, and remebered back to the point in the movie at which they explored loomis room and found his phone or Palm Pilot or something and Hutched looked up the info on the game company. I checked out both www.bellmangames.com and www.bellmangames.net, but nothing came of it but an empty site with under construction listed in the right corner, and Network Solutions in the left.

There is no game. To those who claim to have played the game, why don't you give some specifics? Developers, Publishers, distributers? why don't you? cause it doesn't exist.
A limited possibility it will show at e3 and perhaps premeir in 2008. Maybe.
If you really want the game, why don't you email the initial cgi and semi-operational developer and ask him wtf?
I've been scouring for it, but nothing yet, just some rumors and lots of wishes.

there is one part of the movie that i dont really understand and thats the ending - the charactures in the movie went to the plantation and burned the body. so now that she is gone completly and cannot be brought back whith the "proper text" there is no ghost to kill any of the people that will buy the game that has been realesed in the game store. is that what was entended to be portrayed at the end of the movie or was it supposed to be like more people are going to buy the game and die?

I have heard interviews with the filmmakers..and they said they are praying for the chance to bring this awesome game to life. If a sequel is green lighted, then people should expect to be playing with the blood countess. The game footage was designed with CliffyB of all people (Gears of War) and he might help if the game is coming. I really want this game also :P I wanna shoot dead zombie girls with nail guns :D

OK 1st off there is NO GAME THAT GOES WITH THIS MOVIE. At least not for now but due to the real life dying thing (in the film) they may get worried about people doing silly stuff in real life (not the movie) so it may never even get some base coding. Many people think it exists due to the fake game disk in the shop at the end (think it was a PS disc). A game close to this could be Project Zero (Europe name) A.K.A. Fatel Frame (U.S. and Japanese name). It has Ghost close noises that are near the same and some of the ghost appear and vanish scenes that are near the same. The downside is you fight with only a camera, no crossbows or chains on hooks here. If you want the undead in a 3rd person view with weapons go get Resident evil/Biohazard or check out some of the silient hill games. If you want gruesome stuff go check out manhunt, I heard manhunt 2 is winning the battle to be released and should be due out the end of august or september. Those of you who have "played" Stay Alive need a reality check, do you having nothing better to do than tease people online?

There will NOT be a Stay Alive game. There were plans, but the plans were aborted after the realization hit that the money spent making the game, would go well above and beyond the profit made by the movie plus the cost of making the movie. There was every intention to make the game, but alas, it will not be happening. I am so mad at this fact becuz i luv horror games (yea i'm a girl lol) but it's totally awesome and i wanted to see it.

Brent: Right, I mean we created it within the movie. We created it as a character in the film and we hope that it will be a full on video game before too long. No, it's not a movie based on a game... it's a movie with a game in it. When we release the game, people will be buying the game that the kids in the movie play.
If Stay Alive does become a video game, how does that work as far as you guys both having originated the screenplay?
Brent: We've already done a lot of development on the game. We have a really good design dock for the entire concept you know, dock for the entire game. We would write the game. We might probably would be creating it hand in hand with Cliff Blizenskigreen (sp). We've done this in the past you know for that script I mentioned, it's called Mercury. We wrote the concept out for that for Universal Interactive. We've written a couple of games. So hopefully we would be completely behind the whole game.

Is there gonna be a part 2 to the "Stay Alive" movie? I see by a couple of the comments on here that the game will be out soon. I am also a horror game fan, so I'm excited that the game will be made. Are you people freaking serious? If these comments are real then there are more female gamers than I've ever seen in one place ever.
What is clearly happening here is someone involved with making the movie is trying to play this up and market their AWFUL movie. I am a hardcore gamer. No gamer could ever possibly think this was a good movie.
